Server Update Rollout

My apologies for the lack of server schedules last Friday, my father went in for shoulder surgery, and I was asked to bring a message Sunday at the church he pastor’s so got a little sidetracked on message prep! But Dad is doing much better and life is all slowly calming down (now if only our heat wave would end, I’d be set!) šŸ™‚

On with the server news though, as noted not all servers are up for this new setup – but they have some fun coming during Customer Appreciate Month with all other servers – so stay tuned for that coming up VERY soon! Each server will have an estimated 2 hour outage, now this may end up beingĀ considerablyĀ less! But adding some additional time just in case something comes up during upgrades.

  • Praise: August 24th – 11pm (Pacific)
  • Solomon: August 31 – 11pmĀ (Pacific)
  • Sputnik: September 1 – 11pmĀ (Pacific)

Now more goodies are coming over the Customer Appreciation Month, few new additions to services and some additional resources, building the final plan for the 4 weeks of fun! Hope to have a lot of goodies for everyone new and old to enjoy, and for all customers a little somethingĀ special, where I can wing it! So stay tuned! If you aren’t already join me on Facebook, Twitter, the Newsletter or the YouTube Channel which should be updated this week too!

Again thanks for your patience! Stay tuned for more goodies to follow!

Titus to Solomon

Earlier this year Titus was setup, it was a move in how hosting “could” be done using a 64bit platform – for the most part things have gone smoothly but in the realm of upkeep, security, and issues like modules, backend support etc. have made me have to re-focus and stick to a 32-bit setup.

So to that end Titus will be de-comissioned this Saturday after a migration of data to Solomon, all customers on Titus should have received a email with this information – but for those who may not of, this is being cross posted here on the blog, as well as Facebook and Twitter. Read the email that was sent out below.

Faith Outage

I do apologize for the outage this morning, the team at the datacenter worked to try and resolve the problems as quickly as possible – sadly the issue wasn’t as clear-cut as one would hope in getting a server back online, several solutions were tried and seemed to work briefly – thus why some of you may of noticed things come back online, only to go offline again.

The latest fix appears to be the ticket, they of course as well as me are watching the issue closely – I do apologize for not putting information up on the outage as it happened, last night after a few months of mixed sleep, I got to sleep early, and apparently deep enough to sleep thru alarms going off that a server was down – thankfully I do have a team who keeps an eye on the servers and they were working on it even then, just no way to throw you guys updates.

I do appreciate the continued patience of folks as these moves/hardware issues have happened – I am very blessed with some amazing customers! If you have any questions about the outage or are having ANY problems, as always feel free to open a ticket.

Server Work!

As mentioned in the last post, in an effort to keep things running smooth, reduce groups of server outages, some things are being re-located within one of the primary data centers I utilize for FH’s servers. Thursday and Friday there will be some outages lasting at least an hour, hopefully less, and hopefully not too much longer – I wish I could give specifics, but each will take a little bit different amount of time.

The plan though is as follows:

Thursday 12:30AM : Shepherd and Faith
Friday 12:30AM: Business and FlockHosting.com

Again, the goal is for as little downtime as possible, but to also avoid prime-time hours with web browsing the late hour has been selected. If you have any questions please open a ticket, or drop me any email, also be sure to watch our Facebook and Twitter Pages for updates as it happens.

Service Disruption

Currently there is an outage effecting a section of servers, not entirely sure of the issue – DC crews are looking into it currently and more should be known very shortly. I will update this post with more information once it becomes available, hang tight and keep us in your prayers.

Update: Things are slowly coming back online – one of the storage arrays that power our data systems went down, after a quick reboot data was verified and things are slowly being brought back online. If you have any problems please feel free to open a ticket.
